Herschell (BLOOD FREAK)

First appearance: Blood Freak (1972)

Poor Herschell, he just got back from serving in Vietnam when he hooks up with the wrong crowd, gets pressured into smoking a joint and is immediately hooked! This leads him into being duped into eating experimental turkey meat by two scientists who offer to pay him in Marijuana. Unfortunately one of the side effects from eating the turkey is Herschell becomes a terrifying half man half turkey chimera with an insatiable hunger for the blood of marijuana addicts!

So remember kids, just say no to turkey or something....

Dracula

 

First appearance: Dracula (1958)

Dracula's out Drac-ing it up and Dr. Van Helsing's out to put an end to all that. 

While I've never been a huge fan of vampire movies I've always really dug the Hammer Dracula series. Christopher Lee is the Best Dracula. This is my little tribute to him. RIP Christopher Lee.

 

Vladislav, Viago, Petyr and Deacon

One of my favourite movies from 2014.
I know I've posted Viago before but I really wanted to make sure his flatmates were represented.

"Evil" Ed Thompson

First appearance: Fright Night (1985)

Charley Brewster is convinced his neighbour, Jerry Dandridge, is a vampire. He comes to this suspicion after seeing Jerry bite a woman on the neck and then bundling a human shaped garbage bag into the back of his car.
Turns out Charley is right.
Unfortunately since nobody believes him, he seeks the help of horror host and ex-horror film actor, Peter Vincent. Fortunately for the sake of a plot, Mr. Vincent doesn't believe him either. Eventually everyone (except Charley) is proven wrong and they all have a most Frightening Night.

Fright Night's a fun slice of '80s horror. Evil Ed and Peter Vincent steal any scene they're in. You may find Ed's laugh irritating at first, but it grows on you. He's such a strange character you can't help but enjoy his reactions to anything said to him. Peter Vincent is just as fun to watch. He's played by Roddy McDowell so you know pretty much how he's going to play things.
There's a sequel, which I've seen but remember nothing about. A comic book series that lasted 22 issues and (spoiler) brought Ed back to life. There's also a remake from 2011. It's not bad but it's also not as fun as the original. Mostly because the remake's Ed isn't as weird. There's as sequel to the remake, but I haven't seen that. I hear it's better than the remake.

Vlad Dracula

This appearance: Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

Another retelling of the Dracula legend. This one claims to stick closer to the source material. A lot of people really like this movie but the first time I saw it I fell asleep and missed a lot of it. I took that as a sign and haven't seen it again since. At least he had this cool armour at one point. 

David

First appearance: The Lost Boys (1987)

A single mom and her two sons move to the murder capital of the world. Vampiric hijinks ensue.
Features the greatest vampire hunters in movie history. The Frog Brothers, Edgar and Allen.

DRACULA

First Appearance: Dracula (1931)

Now I've never been a huge fan of Vampires and honestly never really cared much for Drac, but he is pretty damn awesome in Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstien.
